This project was so much FUN to work on.  The Sportfishing Association of California wanted to create a piece for Lt. Commander Douglas C. Hall in appreciation for a lifetime of service.  This amazing thing is the result of my design aesthetic, combined with a giant laser machine.  This wouldn’t have been possible without my good friends at Soul Ryde Inc, located in the North Park neighborhood of San Diego.  They do amazing 3d work so be sure to check them out!

I had the pleasure of creating a logo for “Cheap Eats Boulder”.  A blog that lets people know where to find tasty food in the city of Boulder at great prices!  Here is the logo, as well as an explanation as to how I came up with it.

1.  The colors are dark green, light green, and orange.  It is meant to look healthy, vibrant, and warm.  Orange is hip and fun, while green is calming and trust worthy
2.  The platter represents food.  It is upscale, and should exude quality
3.  The “ce” has the cents sign in it to represent that food is inexpensive.  However, the font is high-end and in 3d to represent quality
4.  The bottom font is thin and modern to contrast the font of the “ce”.  I’m trying to keep the design fresh and fun with this cutting edge font.

This is what I created for the Chardonnay varietal of Canvas Wines.  Since chardonnay is light, crisp, and refreshing, I wanted to bring those same things to the packaging.  The design I created has a paint splat to go with the “canvas” theme, and an elegant type collage.  There are three wine bottles to represent the three varietals (Merlot, Cabernet, and Chardonnay).  All in all, I’d say this bottle looks quite yummy.  Now I just need to go taste some for myself!

Today I’m creating a label for a bottle of chardonnay which I’m sure is delicious and amazing (although I haven’t actually tried it myself yet, it’s on my to-do list).  I was looking for some creative ideas to make my label stand out.  After all, so often people will buy a product based on its packaging, so it really needs to be eye-catching connect with an audience.  I’m reposting this entry originally from designerDaily.  Enjoy!
